Mandurama

In the mid 1800’s the village of Mandurama began developing, as a private settlement for the large close by Icely family property with workers from the property establishing their homes in the village.

Evidence of the importance of the village is evident in the fine old buildings such as the magnificent Royal Hotel, Masonic Hall, churches and bank premises. The architectural styles in the village are a mixture.

Mandurama boasts an impressive park and is well serviced by the Mid Western Highway.

There are several large impressive homesteads not far from the village including Sunny Ridge and Millamolong. At Millamolong there is a guest house and horse riding available.

The name “Millamolong” means “sick mans creek” where aboriginals came to drink the creek water to heal their sicknesses the first inhabited building on this property was the slab hut built in the 1830’s.

Not far out of Mandurama on the Mid Western Highway on the way to Blayney is Golden Gully Winery, for more info on opening hours call the winery on 63675 148.

For more details drop into the Royal Hotel or Mandurama Post Office/General Store or the Petrol Station all situated on the Mid Western Highway right in the heart of the village
